"Not only does it look a good deal better, it is also a better drive. "

I think the GTI looks better!

I cant decide if like it or not, Price seems right,

As people say if it had the ED30 engine this would make me want one.

no mention in the mag having the same engine as the ed 30, although they say the 197hp version is NOT the same as the GTi, its had a slight weight reduction with any increase in block stiffness for improved refinement. Different engine code EA888 as to the GTi's EA113.

Dont like it at all. If there going to make a coupe then they could at least make it pretty!

Or actually make a coupe and not a hatchback pretending to be one. I'm not a fan either, I prefer a well worked mechanical suspension setup, you can keep your fancy electronic witchcraft VW.

I've been watching this closely as I think we will trade in the ED30 for something else next May, and at the moment I'm liking it, but it would be a clincher if they do an ED30 or S3 spec engine, something around 240bhp, and slight tweeks visually. I guess the R32 will not been in production much longer and this would fill the gap, with a more Eco / CO2 friendly TSI 4 pot engine.

A Scirocco R as per the race version........

Its interesting to note that the race car above, that will take part in the 24hour ring race this bank holiday, has very sculpted bumpers that look quite tame, almost car designed? Really like the split on the lower grill, instead of the big wide mouth on the road car, its more like the IROC concept.

Its also got elements of the Clio Sport with the brake ducts in the wings etc too.

Also found this, which is appearing at some show in Germany this weekend, can't make out if its R line styling kit or maybe a Scirocco R preview??

I like the side skirts, as they colour code the black trims on the standard car, but the whole kit does look a bit stuck on IMO. But in the right colour with those nice 19" Chrome jet engine stlye rims on.........

Also like the rear end black insert, as it makes the exhuast look less stuck on too.

Can't make out what the black roof is though, unless VW have gone crazy with a Carbon Fibre tin top!

Are those wheels Phateon ones too?

I like it from the front, it's a horrible mess from the rear though.

I assume that with it being based on the Golf, that the 19's I have fitted, should fit on to the Scirocco without any problems. :undecided:
