H&R sussy question
« on: 27 April 2004, 14:00 »
I'm interested in buying s set of 'cup-kit' suspension by H&R. After looking on thier website i have noticed one little thing that confuses me - info pasted below:

=================
Part Number:
31016-3
??
Description:
VW Golf III VR6 + GTI + diesel + Fz. with 5-hole-wheel (60mm spring seat)(Except Cfromrio, Syncro und Variant) up to 1997
front axle60, rear axle40, 31016VA3, 31016HA1
=================

=================
Part number:
31028-3

Description:??
VW Golf III VR6 + GTI + diesel + Fz. with 5-hole-wheel (60mm spring seat)(Except Cfromrio, Syncro und Variant) up to 1997
front axle60, rear axle40, 31028VA3, 31028HA1
H?rteverstellbares shock absorber system
=================

As you can see these two kits seem to be virtually the same, but one of them seems to be for a different kind of suspension system. (highlighted in purple above) I have a '97 8v, and i have checked the date stamp on the top of the strut in the engine compartment, which reads '96... is there something i can check on to see which kit i need to buy?

many thanks
gosumo!

i'm pretty sure the second is height adjustable. therefore there should be a big price difference. also Cfromrio should be cabriolet.

page has been translated badly.

ha ha ha ha ha.....

translated V badly.... German to Englash auto-translator has taken:

ab = from

hence translating back the other way...

Cfromrio = Cabrio

Oh dear....

thing is, the prices seem to be exactly the same  :-\ so i wouldn't have thought the difference between the two was an issue concerning height adjustment.

it's left me wondering if there was something on the suspension that VW changed right near end of production on the mk3...mmmmmmmm  ???

H?rteverstellbares = hardness adjustable (roughly translated)
