My next mod...

My next mod, booked in with my local VW dealer on Thursday...

Does anyone know if the dumpstops supplied have to be fitted...

Will post some pictures when it's done...

I can't believe they agreed to do it. Whenever I go in they always tell me " we've never done one of those before, so it might not work. Oh and it'll be expensive"

I get the same, I guess some dealers are good, some aren't so good

He matched the price Ricci Concept quoted... £180 incl vat with 4 wheel alignment as well.

Yes for now.....

dumpstops.... slip of the finger

If a main dealer can't change some springs and align them then there's something wrong... Yes main dealers sometimes cock-up but they always get it sorted in the end, but thats the start of another thread... LOL

182, is it an easy job and do you need any special tools?
I'm looking at getting the Eibach ones (not sure of the name of them) that lower by 10 to 15mm as dont want to go too mad, and keeping standard shocks on. Looking for a lower look, and decent comfort when driving normally, but a bit better handling when pressing on.
My dealer charges over £90 per hour labour rate so I guess it would be a lot more than £180 fitted.

The alignment should be done a while after the springs have "settled in" IMO.

i didn't need special tools, just the normal spanners, the springs werent under much load on the ST so no compressors were needed, it took just over 2 hours for the two of us (backs were 10 mins each), if you don't know what your doing its best to get someone who knows there stuff to do them
