VW corrado

I have been given a very tidy looking white vw corrado by a friend of mine for payment of some money he owes me, just unsure if i was to sell it what would be my best options? so i thought id put a couple of quick pics up of it that i took this morning on my phone before i went to work & get views off people on here.

At the moment im undecided what to do with it, The car is very clean & has got heated leather interior, Ive been given all the standard front and rear lights, Its got MOT till september, 107k on the clock with most of its history, All handbooks & document wallet but it does have a couple of small issues that need sorting on it- for some reason it wont idle when cold but once its warmed up it ticks over at just over 1000rpm, the brakes were all replaced for its Mot last year and its only done 500 ish miles since then but been stood for about 4 months so they are sticking on.

But stuck with weather to swap all lights back to standard then sell the clears on ebay or leave them on the car & try that on ebay???

standard cars always sell easier than modded ones, i would take the eyebrow spoiler off and try and find the right wheels for it as well, you can probably sell those alloys for more!

Check out the Coraddo forum as these things are plagued with running problems and the fixes are well documented over there.

As Mark says revert it back to standard and sell the lights wheels separately for more profit.

Love Raddos and that one aint bad... bit too modded for me so like everyone says id put it back to std as much as poss. Get the original wheels for it... (ebay) and then sell the other ones!! sell the modded bits etc

AS for running issues the corrado forum are a good bunch of guys... check em out!

keep it! personally not too keen on the lights/eyebrow spoiler or wheels but thats all stuff thats easy to sell on or change if you dont like (which you might) and if the body work is clean its well worth hanging on too. Brakes are a common fault and should be easy to fix and as others have said, loads of usefull advise on the corrado forum. 


oh, and leathers no good either, you should definatly lose that......dont mind swapping you for cloth if you like!

im having issues with it already!! i need a idle controll valve as it wont tick over at all. think that when i get it running right ill put it on ebay with the stuff thats on it but put a note saying winning bidder can choose from modded lights or standard ones, if i cant get it running right it might end up being broke but that would be a real shame as the body is mint!! no dents/scrapes or rust on it. oh and i suppose the leather is really a down side to mine but your cloth would make it worth more??

In my opinion having a clean/rust free body on a Corrado is far more important than the engine (well on a 16v anyway) as it can be a lot easier to sort out/replace a knackered 16v than sort the bodywork (hence why i was not so fussed when buying mine with over 170k on the clock, over 190k now  ).

oh and i suppose the leather is really a down side to mine but your cloth would make it worth more??

Just a thought... Many people in the past have assumed they need a new ISV, then it turns out to have been a split vac hose or something similar. Have you borrowed a known good isv to test it??

i took my old one off to try and clean it out first & ended up braking the bit where the larger hose fits at the bottom so i ended up getting another off corrado forum
