Hehe good job, it sounds like they'll fold and match your deal!
It depends what spec your car is, what toys are you going for?

Its about time these dealers gave us customers a good deal

tbh, car's totally standard , except for 3 yr service deal - the options are wasted on the mrs

went into dealership today ; seems like the salesman who offered to deal @ £20K DIDNT TELL ANYONE ELSE-YEAH RIGHT-and the best price now is £20.6k , tho met paint was added to options . I booked a test drive and took along my 12 y old son . After an hour and because i mentioned an internet price was better than their's i was informed a test drive wasnt possible as they arent in the biz of competing with internet prices !!! WTF?! this was after them trying to flog me a PCP after being told specifically i didnt was this ..... VW Twickenham are also saying there are no new met blk gti's in the uk and i'll have to order from factory, 12 weeks delivery time.....
thing is , i want a new car and they are 5 mins down the round. tell them bollox or go elsewhere ?

Why on earth are you wasteing your money on a brand new, why not 1 year or near as bargain. You are filling the pockets of the chancellor buying new with all these added tax's,. You loose 3.5k the minute you drive it off the forecourt.

Seriously, your best off saving some of your cash especially in the current financial climate. You are throwing money away, for a new car smell and for the 5-6 miles on the odometer. There are shed loads of cars with the spec your after for Thousands less.

What the man said!  I picked up a 1000mile/2 1/2 month old 3 door Steel grey ED30 privately for less than 19k.  Picked it up from Harrow.

how much haggle room is there in used cars? most of the 07 cars i've seen on vw sites are around £18k. bearing in mind some internet sites are selling for £19k ish  i assumed new was a better bet. am i wrong?
