Was bored last night, so after I left my old mans I thought i'd nip across to the old (unused) airfield near his house to have a play.. 
Thought i'd do a quick speedo vid for you boys that might like..

I'm off to a 30-130mph day at Elvington in July (not sure if you guys have heard about this). It's an event that MLR (Evo owners club) do every year with a lot of success as it is seen as a proper way of testing a cars straight line performance ( as no launch needed / Rolling start). But this one has been organised as a Hot Harch day, so will be a cracker, as will be up against a mixture of standard and modded VXR's, ST's, Focus RS', Leon Cupra's, Type R's, Alfa GTA etc etc
Tried to get a vid of that range last night, but with the greasy conditions it was just spinning up.. But i'm guessing somewhere around 17 sec mark hopefully (going off this and adding a bit for speedo inaccuracies))..

VW Driver mag said this about a remapped ed30

even in sixth gear it accelerates from 80 to 100 mph in 4.3 seconds; that’s the kind of performance you’d expect from a Ferrari or Lamborghini rather than a four-door hatchback.

You'd struggle to hit £150 on it mate.. not long enough really. Hence why I had to come off the gas at just over 130..

Sounds like a good day out that 30-130 day, we never have anything like that up here.

isnt it greta just having a unused airfield behind your house!, shame we didnt get to see the airfield in your video Vtec  .
Car looks very quick, you should do a standing start one for us, so i can see if the ed30 can handle as quicker start without bouncing the front wheels controlling all those rampaging horses    I have some doubts over this, without some serious mods to the suspention setup etc

Just ran a stopwatch on that time vtec, 50mph to 100mph in 5.5 seconds!, putting that into perspective, can i have my exhaust system back please!!!!

We'll see how it copes with standing starts tomorrow when I run it at Pod.. Taking video camera too, so will report back tomorrow..

i predict, you'll do. 0-60 in 5.9 seconds and a quarter mile 14.2. after seeing others try at santa pod in ed30's and S3's, and track temp tommorow will be about the same,(hopefully not showery like that time). good luck and if your exhaust goes walkabout, i wasnt me honest
