BOLLLLLLOCKS !!!
« on: 16 May 2008, 08:30 »
Iv managed to curb my rear near side monza parking up this morning :( there is a masssive chip / hole in the alloy now and the laquer has been penetrated. I can only asume this is not good, I will try get pics up as soon as but its not looking good. Whats the crack (excuse the pun) with this then? I assume its going to need resealing? Really dont have the money at the moment to get it refurbed.

Whats my best next move?

I managed that on my first day of ownership (although it was a case of kerb the wheel or smack in to the landrover driving down the middle of the road). Just seal it with some wax / wheel protector.

So you can do it yourself? Thats a small relief. I knew at some point in time this was going to happen, just didnt want it to be within two weeks of ownership. What the best stuff I need to buy to seal it?

Cheers Toph

You'll need to seal it ASAP. The longer you leave it, the more oxidation will take place.

Although they dont look as good, its harder to damage the 17"s as the tyre sticks out more, protecting the wheel. I'm guessing you have 18"s AlanD? It might be an idea to try and get hold of a spare wheel from someone on here, they seem to sell from time to time.

I feel your pain.  The missus has made a right mess of my NSF Monza II when she hit a pheasant (not to mention the split front bumper).

I use this on my wheels each week, great stuff.

The Monza's blemish extremely easily and this stuff seems to protect them well...

Or it could be just down to the fact that im an OCD.
