well last night on my way to work a5111/a50 towards eastmidlands airport around 10.40pm i over tuck a white mk2 gti lowered with aftermarket blue xenons

WAS THIS YOU?

if it was then i gotta give it to you mate thats one GTI ROCKET!!

anyway ive gotta mk5 gti we had a little drag race and got to around *** mph shifted into 6th then the white mk2 just flew off!!!  :shocked: :shocked: :shocked:

seriously guys that was one super gti, i stuck my thumb upto the guy saying well done mate he flashed me back  :cool:

you gotta watch out for these old skool gtis, some are well underestimated.

Well, bang a 1.8T engine in and tune it a little and it will thrash a MK5 GTi. :cool:

i think it may have been a 2.9 g60? as there supercharged!!

a turbo wont have that much torque at ***mph???

said something on the back but couldnt read it properly.

Is the 2.9 g60 what you think it said then? If that is the case it will be a supercharged vr6  :cool:

@Mew it looked similar to yours but in white.. really low, single headlights and gold rims.

think it was a G60 badge on the back in slanted writing.

i may have to consider getting something like this just for my own pleasure in modifing it.

my mk5 is expensive even for an airfilter is around 190quid  :undecided:

i do like the corrardos but im guessing every one for sale must have been thrashed

Not to mention the extra weight compared to the MK2 Golf.

Buy a Golf G60 if you don't mind LHD. You will never look back. :smiley:
As for a 2.9 G60, well I've never heard of one. And I wouldn't think the compressor would be up to the job of supplying 6 cylinders without serious modification to its internals. (But I do stand to be corrected if I am wrong.)

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.
