whenever i do an oil change i always find removing the oil filter is particularly messy and oil gets everywhere!!!

is there a nack to it or any little tips for removing it without oil getting everywhere?

Drain the oil when it is still hot/warm that way a lot more of the oil will drain out before you remove the filter. When you take the filter out, keep it the same way up to save tipping the oil in the filter out

get a proper tool to do it, as apposed to jamming a screwdriver through it like I do, certainly not the cleanest way lol

get a proper tool to do it, as apposed to jamming a screwdriver through it like I do, certainly not the cleanest way lol

Get a large pair of grips on it, i bought one of the chain removal tools, utter tosh

filter shouldnt be on that tight in the first place, but the screwdriver trick is always a good one :laugh:

yeah I didn't mean the chain tool, meant the rubber belt grip things work a treat on it

oil and filter changes are always a bit messy anyway. and big pair of grips normally gets filters off anyway
