Rims- standard look options

Your thoughts appreciated on the way to go wheel-wise.
Been running these since buying the car:

They're off an Audi 80 Quattro. I like em as they've got a rally vibe and are off a correct period VAG car. They need refurbing though. Never done this before and with all the spokes it looks like a big job.
Anyone got an idea how long it's likely to take me to get a good finish with sanding by hand and rattle cans?
Alternatives are steels or P-slots. It would have had the latter when new (1985), right?
Refurbing steels is presumably a lot easier, P-slots less so.
What sort of money am I looking at for a set of good Ps or good steels does anyone know please?
Completely different suggestions welcome, although I don't fancy BBSs.

I have done two set of wheels by hand now (three if you include my RS I am re-building) and I have had enough.

Those multispokes will be too much hard work to wet and dry, but if it is only paint damage and no kerbing or big scratches, then you could use nitromoors to strip the paint, wash the wheels, the use primer and what ever paint you want.

I did my Estorils like this, took a few hours.

The snowflakes or whatever they're called could be another option as they tend to go quite cheap. Think they came on the cab and scirocco.

im going downt he nitromorse route with my sebrings... cant be assed with all the sanding and shizzle!

get on ebay, loads of wheels going about, but honestly, i think if you take your time with refurbing your own wheels, then it will look spot on...

As for prices a mint set of P slots will be about £150 without tyres, I think steels can still be bought new from VW for around £25 a wheel.

I'm deffo going to stick two of my white steels on your car before Stonor to see how it looks!
