Hey
I'm in the process of ordering some new suspension
But I've hit a snag
How am I meant to tell if my car has sealed or non-sealed struts?

Its a H reg late 1990 8V GTi
And I'm stuck on which rear struts to buy?

http://www.venommotorsport.com/manufacturer_product.php?manufacturer=Koni&category=suspension&product=SportRear&make=VW&model=Golf%20Mk%202

That's my choice ^^^
Which are the ones right for my car?

I'm guessing I'm looking at the (04.89-91)  range
But there is one for £80 and one for £65
Which is the one I need?

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I need a quick answer
Anyone who knows for sure will be awarded a beer token

Thanks a lot!

(I have searched, but failed  )

Without meaning to be too obvious, how about ring them up tomorrow and they can make sure you get the right ones? - will prob need your chassis number.

Better than guessing and getting the wrong ones :)

You want sealed front struts and corrado rears

The sealed basically means the damper tube and body are one piece, where as non-sealed means you get an insert to put into your existing damper body (the bit that bolts onto the hub).

Corrado rear shocks because the are top adjustable, the golf ones normally aren't.

Aye I know mate, just wanted to get it done tonight really!
Thought I'd planned it all out

Ah I see, I thought that was pretty much right with regard to the sealed/non-sealed issue.
Will the Corrado dampers not be set up differently to the Golf ones?

Is it possible to tell from the list linked above, which are the sealed and non-sealed?

Guessing the most expensive ones are the sealed ones to go for?
