Hey New person here
« on: 10 May 2008, 19:48 »
OK so I have just brought myself a VW golf after a year of bad luck with my CRX being stolen and crashing my replacement Fiesta, so insurance is an issue. I have got myself a MK3 Golf Match, never heard of one or seen one before. I collect it on monday but dont really know what to expect, my mechanic has got it for me and swears its in good condition from 1996 and with only 60,000 miles on the clock.

so what can I expect from this car? are they good on petrol? what extras do the match models have over the standard?

Cant wait to get it, and start on a new project, I cant own a fast car anymore so I might as well own a nice looking smooth dub.

oh P.S hi guys been reading the forum for a couple of days now.

a pathetic 1.4. I dont care about speed anymore, have owned a fast car (CRX was tuned) so am now going for reliability, comfort and style

So your getting a golf  :undecided:

Haha joking of couse

First of all as its a Post 95 1.4 engine it has the much better AEX Multi point engine! (sorry single point guys but it is better)  They are pretty good on fuel and the AEX engine has a fair amount of poke considering its a heavy car and its a smalll engine.  I dont think the match has anything special over the CL, its just a diffrent name, it was all bit of a joke i think,  Golf Ryder, Golf Match, Golf Driver... haha i think you get the bonus of colour coded bumpers etc..

10 golfs and counting!
