Induction pipe on turbo
« on: 10 May 2008, 17:44 »
Just had the car serviced and they found an oil leak from the induction pipe on the turbo.  Can anyone tell me where to find this and a possible remedy.

thanks

p.s. i just checked the oil level after the service, and its about 10mm above the maximium level - will overfilling by this much cause any damage to the Cat ???

overfilling can't be good mate - take it back and tell them to sort it!

do they mean the turbo intake pipe?? thats at the back of the block i think  :undecided:

did they say anything about your intercooler and it dripping oil??

no they didnt mention the oil from the intercooler and their report says (i quote) 'have found oil leak from induction pipe on turbo'

im really not happy with them

1. overfilling oil
2. not finding the other oil leak
3. they couldnt tell me what was wrong with the car losing power on starting up - they want me to rebook for this (yeah and charge me a fortune for it probably)
4. they charged me £1.08 for a screw

  yeah they deserve it

I really dont know what to do now ???

I need to be in south wales for 8am tomorrow, but i dont want to drive it with too much oil.

I could drain the oil a bit, but what proof do i have to the garage?

i drained the oil through the dipstick - i used some earth sleaving to syphon the oil out into a clear plastic container   now the oil level is just on the maximum mark.

with regards to the oil leak from the induction pipe on the turbo, do you think they got this wrong and they are talking about the oil leak i got on the intake pipe on the intercooler ???
