Hurdy, I'm suprised to hear you found the S3 that much slower than your mapped ED30. WHen i test drove one, it didn't feel much slower than mine. Mine had more torque and that push in the seat feeling, but glancing at the S3 speedo i was suprised to find i was going quite fast with minimal effort. This in part could be the fact that i could abuse 1st and 2nd gear throttle unlike the ED30. A reason why i want an S3. What did you think of the engine/exhaust noise compared to your stock (if u can remember) system?

I will try to get some pics up of my HU and Subbie for u NewGolf. System is not overly loud... not a chav  Just wanted a system to address the lack of bass from the oem setup and got sick of the lack of track names from my ipod.

Kev

It is much slower although you can keep more momentum through the corners which almost makes up for it. I think that the DSG box makes progress soooo swift that dropping back into a manual seems like driving a traction engine technology-wise
The exhaust noise does sound a little "fruitier" on the S3, but is still quieter than the Milltek at full chat

Kev, I'd like to see pics of your install too

Of course there is always the RS3 that IS coming out next year. 4WD, Quattro, 5 cylinder 2.5 engine, twin turbo and 350 bhp

Has it officially been announced by Audi yet?? They never did an RS model of the old A3 so would be interesting to see what they come up with

So genious of Audi are planning on coming up with a 2.5litre twin turbo 350bhp...hatchback? Dont know for whom they are marketing their cars....and i would imagine the price would be around £35k+....personally i wouldnt pay that much for a hatch when for a bit more you can get something alot nicer!

Some pics of the head unit and sub:

Video played from my Ipod Video. Was gonna get the DNX-7200, but the DNX5220BT was cheaper. You get the Sat Nav, DVD/DivX playback and Bluetooth Handsfree all in one unit so no need to buy seperate modules.

all the kenwood navi units were called back as they had some sort of sticking problem when it flips down also an illumination fault

dunno if they sorted it by now was late last year as a friend of mine had to send hi sback to kenwood.

best to look into before you buy.. there was a website a knew that gave all faults and recall issues of electrical items but cannot remeber what it was called
