hey guys have any of you driven an audi a3 2.0T>?

same engine as the gti aint it?

i drove one last month and the whole experience is better than the gti but somewhat heavier the gti seems more playfull but interior and road noise is very good.

it was a sportback model i drove i still think audis are dull but classy.

i owned one for about 4 months 2.0t dsg A3 sportback and what a pile of sh!te . it was a car the wife chose and well the dsg was good but got abit boring and the suspension was awfull it just rolled in the corners, the brakes well  ,it was comfy and well built but bloody boring to drive hard so we got shot of it and got the ed30 golf  :smug:

S3 5-door Sportback sounds very interesting but I expect it won't feel as nimble to drive as the GTI/Ed30.

At 45,000 miles my modded GTI is feeling like a favourite pair of comfortable shoes. Went from London down the A286 to Chichester and back with a friend yesterday - Very smooth and fast twisties in superb scenery. The car felt superb. I doubt if the S3 will have that lightness of feel.

The big RS4 and RS6 Avants are the real autobahn stormers! Lots of them in Germany. Licence losers in the UK

It was a semi-successful day - drove the S3 and didn't think it was as good as the hype (or maybe I'm just spoilt by the power of mine ). Didn't get to the RS4 - they had sold it within an hour of it going on the forecourt. Fully loaded saloon (minus ceramic brakes!) 06 reg £39k with 16k miles - smack in my price range, but gone

Bad luck mate.   RS4 past me this morning. Sounds fab, nice deep engine note, and what a growl.

Guy who I took with me drives Audi's all day and says that the S3 is like an "old tub" compared with the RS4.I asked what an RS4 is like and his answer was.....

" Aww man, it really is some piece of engineering, it's in a totally different league!"

Hurdy, I'm suprised to hear you found the S3 that much slower than your mapped ED30. WHen i test drove one, it didn't feel much slower than mine. Mine had more torque and that push in the seat feeling, but glancing at the S3 speedo i was suprised to find i was going quite fast with minimal effort. This in part could be the fact that i could abuse 1st and 2nd gear throttle unlike the ED30. A reason why i want an S3. What did you think of the engine/exhaust noise compared to your stock (if u can remember) system?
Oh and before someone says my ED30 must be down on power, i managed to 'own' a 350z.... think it was the 296bhp one

I will try to get some pics up of my HU and Subbie for u NewGolf. System is not overly loud... not a chav  Just wanted a system to address the lack of bass from the oem setup and got sick of the lack of track names from my ipod.

i must admit I was passing a dark grey RS4 4dr yesterday and the thing just looked plain mean. Very subtly blending into the background... and boy o boy did it sound good   But then it just gets me thinking if your gonna get an RS4... why not go for the M3. now thats a mean bit of engineering

Point taken your always going to get stick for having the M3. but after seeing it absolutely batter the RS4 round that track on TG. I would have to go for the M3... just the fact that the RWD BMW put one right over the already fantastic RS4! RS4 is also getting on a bit now... depends if you can wait for the new one to come out?? :undecided:

you decided... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=__ghLE7QtnA
