I have a 8V and find it ok to be honest, loads better on fuel than my 2.0 vectra.

My 2.0 vectra is way better on fuel than my valver

my valver has clocked 134,000 miles and still pulls well, not bad on fuel but then i didn't buy it for economy, i got it cos i like mk3's, it's the 2nd one i've owned and both have been reliable apart from cosmetic stuff like radiators, etc.....i am considering getting a mk2 as well but will always favour my valver.......buy it mate, u can't go wrong!

In short MK3's are great, more GTi than a MK4 and cheaper, just that little bit more modern than a MK2 but perhaps a little less GTi'ness! I love mine & have no plans of changing it yet!
