Mine was on 28k and 3 years old so less than 10k a year which I was pretty chuffed with.

with relatively little spirited driving compared to total mileage, plus virtually no short journeys.

Its all well and good saying that but you will need proof wouldn't you?

Ha, 705 miles here, in 2 months!

Do you just look at your car and clean it?? lol...no driving??

Hehe I just clean it, and give it the occasional "blast"! The poor things days are spent with the missus going to work and back, which is never that far away when you live on a 6 mile by 9 mile island!

Off to the south of France soon, so expect a full write up with pic's of the Millau suspension bridge.

I know a guy who's really good at signatures who may be able to photoshop your car there if I supply some decent pic's?

Cant wait to get on the French motorway and see what the GTI will do! Got my little TomTom ready, only one month to go.....

You can also under use them...
like phil's last car... 2years and 1250miles wasn't it?

that means it's not been "shaken down" and my still exhibit warranty faults which would then occur outside the 3yr warranty etc.
Things like tyres etc shouldn't be stood for too long without moving etc.
Or 1250 miles in 2yrs may mean lots of 5minute trips where the engine has barely any chance to warm up... and they that most of the engine wear occurs in the first 10minutes of each journey.

It's a car ffs... use it ;)

Car was 13 months old (not 2 years), stood for 10 months doing nothing .

Each to their own really, I bought a car with higher mileage than I really wanted but it had all the toys and there were no others about - always a little give and take I suppose.

Just thinking were saying 'high' although the mileage we are talking for a mass produced VAG engine is not that much at all.
