Several factors, like has been said, town commute's and short jorneys., ie less then 10 minute trips will show mpg figure.Any remaps,
exhaust mods and using anything 98 octane and lower will give you a poorer figure. ALWAYS use 99 octane if you have a Shell or Tesco that
have 99 octane and not the 97 stuff.
using air con, heated seats, any High powered ICE systems if fitted etc all adds up. If you have DSG might be worth trying setting to manual and using the paddles as ive found it
improves your mpg as the gearbox will try and get you into the highest gear when you can travel more economically putting less LOAD on
the engine. ie 4th/5th on town runs rather then getting into 6th doing 30mph as an example.
