Mk2 16v golf misfire! HELP!

hi I have got a mk2 16v gti golf, h reg, KR engine. Spent all day cleaning it yesterday, got tracking done filled up with petrol and went for a drive and she was running lovely. I parked up at home then a few ours later when I went to go out it starting to play up.

It was cutting out on idle and misfiring under load, also have a tap from top end, sounds like a noisy tappet but think thats been there for a while. Any ideas what it could be, thinking maybe plugs. Help!

Sorted now I think. Found some oil in the dizzy cap and down one of the spark plug holes, think the cam cover gasket is leaking again lol, lost count of how many of those I've done, dried it out and seems ok. Tapping is a noisy hydraulic tappet, annnoying but hopefully not to much of a prob for the time been.
