flat wiper arms
« on: 03 May 2008, 23:31 »
ok.. have the new style aero blade upgrade on original mk3 arms...

the blades are superb and soooo much better than the old ones but the arms look gash being all bent and wooky where the old wiper blades would normally be filling the gap

so... what to do

of course i'll need new arms... but can anyone suggest what to go for and where might be the best place to get them?  mk4? mk5? polo?

I saw some new polo wipers and arms in the stealers the other day and they looked   just the thing I was after.

anyone done this? got pics? any technical reason why not? eg size? or squirty bits in the arms themselves?

add into the mix that I want to do the same arm/wiper upgrade to the rear wiper too... saw a newbie who had done it recently and i liked it but can't remember who it was... but any suggestions on this would be welcome too!

thanks in advance

Not sure about the rear wiper but you can get properly fitting aero wiper upgrade from vag parts

Here's a link https://sslrelay.com/s74326199.oneandoneshop.co.uk/sess/utn;jsessionid=15481cf57107d8b/shopdata/index.shopscript

I kow lupo aero wipers fit on the mk3 but would probably cost more than them above

Edit: link wont take you direct to product, click product overview, VW, mk3, exterior

might just do that

do you reckon the mk4 rear aero wiper on there is just for the rubber or the whole arm thing too... and is there any reason why that wouldnt fit a mk3?

Think its for the arm, they dont fit right tho as on the mk4 the wiper comes out of the glas so the arm is perfectly straight.

I had a rear aero wiper blade fitted to my standard arm for abit till i took the whole thing off, looked pretty sweet

62 quid for a couple of wiper arms and wipers? what do they do that a normal good quality pair wont do?

well the arms sit flat so they look better than the standard ones... and much better using aero wipers

the aero wipers are just the puppys privates... no lifting at speed, no smearing, do what normal wipers should do... ask anyone that has aero wipers and you will get a positive response

you can upgrade to aero wipers on a mk3 using a standard aero wiper upgrade kit using the original arms that will cost about 22 quid from the stealers
