1st proper clean.

Well since having the car since Feb, i havent had the opportunity to give her a good scrubbing.  I think that considering it was all done by hand using Autoglym products in well chuffed with the results.  There re still swirl marks but the last owner wasnt into cleaning so these will go in time i recon.








Any comments on improvements / products would be more than welcome.  I woulddnt say im a detailer but i do enjoy a nice clean car!

Looking very good and the fastest colour  :cool:
I would recommend the R222 (formaly P21) Carnauba Wax. Works a treat and gives the car a deep wet look.

As the last owner wasn't into cleaning the car much, then that is a fantastic result from the first detail. I can't see ANY swirl marks on those pics and the first pic gives a really good representation of the depth of the shine you have achieved. Top job Ben.

Don't forget that it is an old forum rule that you have to detail the MKV moderators car too :wink: :grin:

Looks good Wheel Man,

Only my opinions, but I went from using AG products to getting a bit more into detailing, and bought a Porter Cable Dual Action polisher, full set of pads and Meguiars 3 step paint cleanser, polish and wax product. if you have swirls it will be very difficult to get rid of them by hand, trust me I've tried! Swirls need to be polished out of your clear coat and by hand its a lot of work. Read up some of the detailing guides, one previously posted here

Always use the 2 bucket method when washing, stops swirls and scratches. I did this yesterday and the amount of little bits/stones in the water make you realise how easy it is to scratch your car. When hosing down your car, take the end off the hose and let the water "sheet" off the paintwork, it takes most of the water drops away and makes it a lot easier to dry with your water magnet!

My wife thinks Im obsessive cleaning the car every few days, polishing every week......

Top job - get those brake discs rust free though - quick drive to get the moisture off after washing :evil:

Thanks guys!!!  Will have to look at getting some specialist products as im getting 'into' cleaning more.

Ah sorry Hurdy, diddnt realise this.  I will make sure i take my kit to Awesome on the 7th   :wink: :grin:
