Of course I'm going to say this coz it's my business, but I have spent lots of money in the past having my own cars chipped and remapped and I wouldn't have done it if it wasn't worth doing!   
Big Thing to remember even more these days is the cost of PETROL! It's going up almost daily and with a decent remap you will gain MPG which in turn saves you money. So eventually you will get the cost of your remap back. Plus if you were to use myself I have an incentive I offer.
