mk3 golf 16v 1.6 100bhp???

ive found a mk3 someone is selling local to me,

the bodywork is mint with no rust and its dark blue
its got 67000 miles 1997 model

Adjustable seats, Adjustable steering column/wheel, Air conditioning, Anti theft system, Central locking, Child locks, Cruise control, Electric mirrors, Electric windows, Heated screen, Heated seats, Immobiliser, Passenger airbag, Power assisted steering, Remote locking, Radio/CD Multichanger, Traction control 

he said that its a rare 1.6 16v 100bhp model but ive never heard of a 16v 1.6, is this right wot he is saying?

he wants 500quid o.n.o it sounds like a good deal to me, and it will be a step up from my current 1.4 single point injection non power steering 93' mk3

That's a new one on me. I could understand all the extras because they were throwing them on the last of the mk3s in 1997. I doubt it will have heated seats unless they are leather. It will certainly not have traction control on a mk3

Could be wrong, ive only owned a VW for a month   just that info doesnt gel for me.

Theres a 105bhp 1.6 16v MK4 golf?? The first Mk4s were about in 1997

£500 though?? I paid more than that for some seats for my mk3. It's entirely possible he's not bullsh!tting about the car spec but it would be a mk4 and a death trap if he's willing to sell it for £500

The 1.6 100BHP is an 8v engine but it looks like the 16V engines.   thats all i can tell you lol
