Be careful what you post in this forum!
« on: 02 May 2008, 16:31 »
Having recently had someone at HIC try to tell me I couldn't have a refund on a policy that did not meet my needs, due to what I'd posted in this forum I would suggest anyone posting about insurance (whether it's requirements, modifications or whatever) should be aware that in the event of a dispute HIC will bring up what has been posted in this forum and use it against you, if they think it helps their case.

Personally I find that offensive and I think that it compromises this forum as somewhere to come and ask questions about insurance, if you know that things might come back to bite you on the backside.

I hope no-one take offence at me posting this, as it's better that people are aware of these things than they find out after the event (for instance if HIC were to cancel their policy, or void a claim based on evidence from this forum).

Be careful what you say.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Just to give the other side of the story, it was clearly stated both on here and a recorded phonecall that HIC DO NOT cover the Nurburgring. Despite this information and DESPITE the fact the minimum cancellation charges where explained to you (AGAIN on a recorded call), you still decided to proceed with the policy. In fact you actually where given a more refund than you where supposed to get as a goodwill gesture. As a result of this i now view that matter as closed so further topics on the subject will be deleted.
