fan noise !!!!!

hi taking the golf  in for a service in the next week or two . will be wanting so warranty work doing . one thing is when the climate control is on every now and again it makes a loud noise , some times its that loud i turn it off because you can here it above the radio...
not been in another  golf so don,t know if this is normal .. i dont think it is... has anyone else had this or can tell me what it mite be ...

at what point does it go loud ? have you asked it to do something, or is it doing something automatically ?, ps mine is never noisier than the radio

i have the fan on but not on auto just has one or two lights showing on the fan speed setting . the noise is like a grating noise .

In the last week mine has started to make a noise that I can hear above the radio. Not a grating though more like the sound of a belt slipping on the compressor (don't know if one is fitted) or maybe a problem with the compressor. Currently driving with the car in Econ (air con off). Going back to stealers when I book car in for service soon.

i know its hard to discribe a noise . but my noise seems to go up & down like its pulse

I've used Wigan a couple of times and they were pretty good, in that I mean they didn't break or damage anything like a few of the others I have used over the years

When the ambient temperature in the cabin is high, the climate control will run with the radiator fan on and off, to help cool the car more efficiently. Are you sure the noise is not the radiator fan cutting in and out?

its not the radiator fan cutting in . the noise happens . if its hot or cold ... if car is started from cold the noise can start after a min or two of driving or ten mins . its a strange one .
