the AA
« on: 01 May 2008, 13:17 »
just got my renewal notice through from the AA so thought I would declare my mods and see what the made of it...

was brilliant... blokey was running through everything and then said... "anything else that might affect your policy renewal?"

I said... "why yes... I have made some modifications to my car... "

I could hear him sucking his breath through his teeth and tutting!!!!

you know like a builder does just before they said... 'oooh... dunno mate... that's gonna cost you'

this was even before I had said anything else! flipping hilarious! they said that they will contact the underwriters and let me know if it was acceptable... told them if it wasn't that I would foxtrot oscar to another company

love fun and games like this

ok - so the AA rang me back and wanted a renewal increase of £260.10 for having suspension/exhaust/stereo on there..  with a £450 excess!!!

spoke to Martin at HIC - he sorted me out with a quote that was cheaper than the original AA quotation with no mods, with less excess and agreed valuation!

bye bye AA hello HIC!

btw - on a personal level it was great to have a proper conversation with an insurance company who know what they are going on about... was a pleasure speaking to Martin :afro:
