Not showing off,  but it is where I live, lots of hot days! 2nd place in the British Isles sunniest places to that other island close to France, known as "Jersey".

We dont talk about that Island though, its inferior to Guernsey.....

you need to live in Nottingham, you would get better MPG

I Know Econ = A/C

but what does the Dual button actually do? Earlier cars don't have one, but it is a dual system anyway.

you can 2 zones of temperature in the cabin with a maximum of 4 degrees centigrade difference. maybe that's what its for?

Hehe, 35mph speed limit here on an island 6 miles x 9 miles. Nowhere to blast the GTI (legally....)

By the way, a lot better MPG now I'm using Super Unleaded!

I think when ECON is on AC is completely off. The OFF button turns the whole system off, fans included. No AC = up to 10% better fuel economy

Thats correct, OFF is off, ECON is compressor off only - so no air cooler than ambient temp.
