Thanks for the comments guys - I just hope thats all the damage they have done because it hasnt stopped raining for long enough to give it a proper inspection.  I have calmed down a lot now and agree that the new alloy and the petrol reimbursed is the best I am going to get. Lesson learned I suppose - will have to try Birmingham VW or Wolverhampton VW next - unless someone thinks otherwise!!!

Do any of you guys ever use the pick up/drop off service - or have I been extremely foolish and should never use it again?

Not sure if it's a bit far for you, but VW Lister's Stratford are good and the service Manager is a top man!

Where possible I'd always take the car and wait. Saturday mornings are good for that, and if you use Stratford you could take the Mrs shopping while you wait

Gotta agree with Greenouse there, Listers Stratford are very good, Doug (Aftercare Manager) is a great bloke, never had any problems with them.

Feel for you mate, I would be absolutely livid!!   I am reasonably young myself and would not want anybody of my age or any younger driving my car. The usual mentality of this age is to rag the arse off the car, to see what 'THE GTI' can do!, obviously there are exceptions and dont get me wrong I drive my car hard but only when appropriately and can do so because it is my car. Unfortunately you were the victim in this case. All I can say is kick and scream until you are happy with the outcome.

VW Wolsey in Ipswich are good - always send a late middle-aged guy in his 50's to collect. Never had a problem

Take the car in personally to have the alloy replaced, then go into the workshop and rip the sh*t out of the oink that collected the car in fron of all his colleagues. Pointing out he's such a crap driver he scratched your alloy to pieces. His colleagues will then punish him for weeks over it.

Interesting to hear the reports about Listers Stratford, I tried using the Audi Listers in Stratford next door to their VW showroom and they were complete tw*ts refusing to honour the Audi warranty, refusing to speak to my supplying dealer, refusing to do any investigative work, and when they did do some warranty work they kindly cleaned the car for me covering it in scratches and swirls that weren't there before.

I popped into Stourbridge VW back along and a brand new Red RS4 was sat outside the workshop, hope the little oik didn't take that out...

One of the salesmen keeps calling me to do a deal on brand new ED30, but they pulled my trousers down and gave me a good spanking over the trade in I had, so I walked away, did a deal elsewhere, currently awaiting the new beastie to be built (June 19th).

Needless to say even though I only work up the road from them (Kingswinford) the ED30 won't be going in after reading this episode... :nerd:

I've had my car collected for service work by Stourbridge Volkswagen and they left a brand new Passat Estate (nice spec) outside my work for the whole day and thats in West Bromwich (not a nice place). So they are talking some sh*t.

I've also had problems with the service from them and spoke to the service manager on a number of occasions. I've had my car a month and still no handbook or gti mats as I requested from the deal.

Looks like Birmingham VW from now one guys.

Dan
