If it because its so thirsty on gas, then id go for the GTi, if your doing alot of motorway stuff then get a TDi and try and live with it.Town mpg isnt much in it between say the 170 tdi and GTi, as i have had both.
Shame your sellling, its a gorgeous car. I bet your really gutted.
Price is about right, and with current climate with fuel costs and stuff, prepare for a wait trying to shift it. Last resort is to sell back to a VW dealer.

when i went to buy my Golf the dealer had an 07 R32 with less than 10k miles for less than your selling yours mate, they had a few in actually and the salesman said he couldnt shift them , and had quite a few coming in for p/x what with price of fuel, and the governments recent road tax hike on them.

Im not saying your selling to high as i havnt compared prices or spec (not even looked at any TBH), i was just surprised that i could get a R32 for less than a GTi, i would search around Autotrader to see what they go for, and price accordingly (if you havnt already)

cheers - looks like i need to trim the price perhaps below the magic £20k - prices must have moved alot in the past 4 months when i last looked delaers were selling 55 plates for over £20k

yes I am selling because of fuel ( i do loads of miles)

Strange i could probaly keep for next three years and it cost me about £6 to £8 in dep and £20k in petrol

might have a cunning plan to buy a cheaper diesel and keep the r32

perhaps just my dealer as he had a few and couldnt shift them, but like you people are trying to get rid so market is a little flooded, where as previously they were hard to get, hope you get a good price for it

I bought my R32 3 months ago for 24k, and was offered 16k in part ex against an RS4!!..

After telling them that they were WAY out, they moved from £16k to £19k in less than 30 minutes

I am now looking at E92 M3's now, the audi salesman were way to pushy and turned me right off the deal!!

I didnt buy mine and therefore havent really looked at prices at new or used tbh honest... but I would say thats quite a resonable price. I can understand why your selling... as recent petrol price hikes are just crippling. The guys running this country really are taking the pi$$!!

Price is about right, its just the wrong time to be selling. People are still scared off by the extra £8.50 a month it'll cost to tax next year
