Milltek Exhaust
« on: 26 April 2008, 11:39 »
Just wanna know if anyone has had trouble with their milltek cat back system on a 16v.
Got mine hitting the axle and the heat sheild. Anyone could help me that would be awesome.
Also it seems to be sticking quite far out compared to pics on AmD's website.

Cheers DMackie

You need a custom made center pipe from the cat to the backbox to make it fit all nice and square, i have the same problem, mine looks like its falling off, its low, and sticks out far, and knocks, you just need a custom center so then it can mate up nice ans snug.

have you a pic mate?

the golf isnt good for fit tbh, we had major trouble with my magnex to get right, i had the custom centre section made up with 304 st/st and im well happy with it now, but we did have to chop the mount hanger off the back box and re weld it in a better location

Here are some pics of mine. I have had some of the long straight pipe, is that what you mean by the centre section or you mean the s bend pipe with the box on it?

Im gonna get some heat proof padding put on it, should that help with the knocking?

been to powerflow today... £350 for a full custom exhaust and backbox, they had like 3 mk3s there a few mk2s, and all sorts of jap cars. pretty phat. But yeah, £350 for a full custom exhaust, probably going to go with this option tbh....

dude it looks fine to me

i removed the heatsheild that goes around the back box area but left it everywhere else, i used tie wraps on the hanger to stop any movement, and its never knocked or rattled what so ever
