Electric window motor

Can you just get a motor or do you need to replace the full mechanism? My motor is stuck, if you hit it with a hammer it works for about 3 minutes, but then stops

Keep hitting it, maybe it will learn to not stop

On a more serious note, you should be able to find the motor separate, best place I would say are local scrappies or ebay, there are some services online that will apparently find you part for you within their scrap yards, but never used them myself.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Probably rust down the end of the casing, might be worth taking the motor out and the casing off and clean it out.

You can take the mechanism apart and remove/swap the motor out, however be careful with the winding bit, if the cable unwinds it can be a real pain getting it back together, it's under tension. If you can release the slider from the guide it might lessen the tension.

just take the mechanism out, undo the two philips bolts that hold the motor in, pull it out as far as it goes, about 1/3" and wd-40 the inside of the motor. works every time for me and it opens/closes faster ;)
