17s fill the arches nicely with a 40 mm drop. :)

other problem is its an 1.8gl which are 20mm higher than the gti!

You're right...damn forgot about it's higher than the GTIs.

Bloody hell, lol! I'm gonna need to get it dropped, is there a way I can get it down to GTI height, then stick it on 15s, without using coilovers?

just get some 35 or 40 mm lowereing springs if your on a budget, maybe thats a option?

I'm on a budget yes, just want the car to be lower than what it is, don't want it really low like other, standard GTI height would be great or maybe a tad more...recommend me some springys!!! lol!

It's becoming more and more clear that I should go for this GTI shocks and springs I'm being offered, with 15s on low pro tyres, and I'm done!
