VR6 engine at the scrappy

as the title says really, everything is there ... the car looks to have gone sideways into a lamp post. apparently the engine still works but they wouldnt give me a price? how hard would it be to remove the engine and put it into an 8v GTI? what would i need etc?

the Vr6 is a David Yarhams in Norfolk if anyone is looking for an engine

At your age are you sure you want to pay such high insurance?

Unless you can fit the engine yourself it wouldn't make financial sense. I presume you mean to fit it into your MK3?

Oh, and there's the risk the engine needs a rebuild or anything really. Is it worth it?

it would be huge amount of work to fit to the mk3 which would be pointless when you could buy a vr6.

But maybe the engine for your mk2???

If for the MK2 GTi I'd recommend driving the 8v first before upgrading engines. It's enough fun as it is.

If for the MK3 then it's cheaper to just buy a MK3 VR6.

you will also need the gear box, pedal box, gear linkage and gear stick etc, clocks loom and keys

you need to rip out your engine and box, as you have cable clutch u need to use the gear box and clutch from  16v or VR6, this means u need to change the whole gear linkage, you will need to remove the exhaust to get access to this, but you will need the VR exhaust too anyhow and if you dont have the 288mm brakes you will also need these.

oh you need the vr6 front suspension set up too

hahaha, my mate did the conversion on his 8v...ill be doing similar with mine when i get the 20vt lump...quite a involved job
