Would be interesting to see what a gti makes in the weather we have been having lately
is there a temp limit on the day?
as at a previous RR day the operator refused to run my car coz the outside temp was 24degree.

I'll be coming from Lincoln, so either up the A1 and across the M62. Or may have a spirited drive across the Snake pass if Hurdy fancies it?

Absof**kinglutely

Lets see if the swear filter picks that one up

Gulfstream may be having a hoon over the Snake with me too
If you've not done it before it is a top piece of blacktop and isn't called the snake pass for nothing
Driven it a few times, but not in the GTI and not for a while. So looking forward to having a good old HOON! lol

Since the last RR day it seems those with plenty of power now want more so we should see some gains from last time.

Turning out to be an expensive trip for some

Room for my R? I've shuffled some dates around and found some spare cash. Plus I'm interested now to see if the mk5 R's really as far down on the manufacturer claims for power as I've been hearing.

If I'm miles away from 250ps and anyone takes the p!ss they get banned

Well I've been whispered a couple of reports, and if I'm not happy I'll be going after VW even harder than the ED30 boys did with the sales numbers.

I,m with topher..Only reason I,m going on is to see if VW figures are correct.Would be unhappy if below the 197bhp thats stated.

Also, seeing as its my 1st RR day.Do we bring sarnies n stuff or is there a food joint nearby??

Previous rides..MKIV 1.8T   MKIV PD150  MK5 GTI MK5 edition30 now MK7 GTI PP

There are a few shops around the corner, but if there are enough of us they might organise some food for us? :undecided:

Topher, welcome on board for the RR. It'll be good to see how an R:. really fares. I've heard quite a few stories and reports in mags that they loosen up quite well with some miles on them, but struggle to make the quoted bhp figures at low mileage. How many miles has your on it now Topher?

Gulfstream, I wouldn't worry about it being below 197bhp. If you are feeding it V-power, tesco 99ron etc than you should see over 200bhp easily. Joesgti had a blown dv with a remap and still made over 200bhp.
