Registration Plates
« on: 23 April 2008, 11:28 »
Hey All,

I have just purchased a private reg and need to get the plate made up. Any ideas on what looks best? I have seen some with borders some with the blue EU sign on the left and some just plain, what in your opinions look best?

I prefer boggo standard plates rather than adding borders, backing plates etc. The only type that betters them are the pressed German plates, but they aren't road legal

Ha ha... LMAO.. That's exactly what I use to do with my smaller front number plate on my LCR..

I'm getting a private plate for xmas.. It'll be a short one so will be trimming the edges down, so it's a lot shorter than a standard plate and not illegal either (AFAIK), as letters are still to the standard..

I'd love to put German style plates on but too scared that they'd slap 3 points on the spot.

yeah in London its like an instant flag to stop your car, I wouldnt get 2 miles down the road without some sort of attention from the plod if I had german style plates.

Sorry for the hijack but when you have visited your local DVLA office to register the private plate on your car do you have to instantly put the new number plate on?  Or can you drive off and go to get the plate made after?
