digifant 2 engine conversion
« on: 20 April 2004, 07:15 »
Hello guys
i have a couple of problems with my mk1, i put a digifant 2 engine in the mk1, anybody have any ideas what i do with the air filter box, its far to big. Also does a mk1 exhaust manifold fit on to the digifant engine, as the down pipe from the digifant doesn't fit.

Many thank

mk1 exhaust manifold will fit.

Not sure what you can do about the airbox. Probably have to cut it to shape :-\
Would getting an induction kit be an easier option?

I am sure you could use a Mk1 inlet manifold in theory, I know that the digifant spec throttle body fits as I have put one on my Mk1. So its then forming a decent pipe to the intake box and also looking at the ISV pipework - Ah sod it, just use an induction kit though guess you are going to have to drill the suspension tower to fit a stud to attach the MAF to.

You could cut away the bottom of the digifant box completely to make it sit low enough, they do this when people do the 16v conversion.
