Hi guys,

Cars not for sale, but after getting an insurance quote for a standard gti 16v, got me thinking that it might be worth possibly changing to one in the nearish future.

My cars a 1996 Anniversary 16v
140k- MYSTIC BLUE PEARL
AIR CON
BBS SPLIT RIMS
ALL THE ANNIVERSARY STUFF(interior etc)
MOT TILL JAN 09
TAX TIL SEPT 08

VERY VERY GOOD CONDITION IN AND OUT.




Just trying to guage what kinda thing im looking for price wise.
ONE in the same colour went for £3300 on ebay last week (did only have 50k though) as there are only 150 16v annivs

anyway the reason for this post is that due to my age, my insurance is £550 a yr, where as a standard mk3 16v non anniv is only £370 a year. Just seems stupid.

well in my eye's you have the ultimate MK3.... I would have that over any other MK3 - inc all VR6's as I don't like their handling.

The best colour, limited edition, nicest wheels, I would pay the extra. How old are you if you don't mind me asking as £500 a year for that car doesn't sound to bad to me unless your an old duffer lol

Hahaha! £500 a year insurance??? I've never had that & I'm 22!

Mine is just shy of a grand for my 'standard' 16V

Keep the ani one, surely worth the extra £Â£Ã‚£ to have something special?

I know, I do love the car, and i dont want to sell it, as i wana keep it for a yr or 2 then get a corrado possibly or a mk4 anniv, but i just wanted to see how much it was worth.

as essentially the same car could cost me just 2/3's of what i pay to insure it, i only do 4k a year!

it is nice having one that different though.

well I think even with the mileage you would be looking at getting over £2k for it..... and you could buy a fairly mint mk3 16v with about 80-100k for £1500 so you would gain money both ways but then it just won't be the same blending in with the crowd... when you had that little something....

When I bought mine I was after an anni and got impatient and although I don't regret it as they are essentially the same it still pains me when I see one that I didn't wait....
