Well another fine day I havent had  , went out this morning and changed the gearbox oil no problem at all then I decided to change the PAS and alernator belts and thats where it all went wrong . I had to use a lump hammer and piece of wood just to move the PAS pump and then the belt that was supplied to me by AVS car parts was 15 mm too short  , (anyone else had this problem ?) even when the water pump pulley and the PAS pump pulley were touching the new belt wouldnt go on . I bought another new belt that was the correct length and then while I was doing up the adjuster the f@cking bolt snapped off  but I've managed to get it all sorted, thank f@ck  Anyone else get days like this or is it just me  :undecided:

Right, I've got a new solenoid and I want to be sure that I'm fitting all the conections correctly so if anyones got a close up picture of a starter motor and solenoind coreectly wired I would realy appreciate it. I dont want to cause any elelctrical problems by connecting it up worng  :undecided:

I know that the braided wire from the starter goes onto the shorter (green) stud and the two power cables go on the longer (red) stud but I'm unsure about where the spade end connecter goes, left or right ?

Please, please help, if I dont sort this today I'm stuffed  :undecided: :embarassed:

hope that helps.

wiring seems to go to the longer of the two bolts, which is above the shorter bolt when mounted on the starter.

Job done (thank f@ck), as it turned out it was the solenoind so I've got the old girl up and running for 20 sheets which is a bonus as I thought I was looking at a new starter motor ! A big thanks to those who helped, offered to help and a huge thanks to you chris for going out of your way take and upload those photos, very much appreciated.
