« on: 19 April 2004, 23:11 »
Hi,
Went to get my s3 revo'd today but they where unable to due to my ecu being tweaked by audi(ex press car).My standard 210 s3 made 244bhp and 243lb/t bet that helped the auto express 0-60 time.ryan

I like your car even more now  ;D

Interesting you were driving around with 244bhp yet still felt you wanted more!  8)

My previous car had 283bhp and 240hp at the wheels and that did feel v.quick.My s3 is 4wd so i lose a bit of the power through the tranny so "only" 185 at the wheels but i'm fairly happy with that.so i probably have numbed a bit to power.

I think you get used to any amount of power in the end and it becomes 'normal'. My 180 Golf is enjoyable and much sharper than my previous 150's but theres plenty of occassions when you just seem to want more. Accelerating off an island is nice, but when its a big long stretch of dual carriageway and your moving through the gears I think only 300+ bhp would seem enough, you just want to get that needle around QUICK! :)

Have to agree there, almost sh1t myself when i first got in mine after the remap, still catches me off-guard sometimes - not sure how long that will last.
If i can't afford a new car this time next year, I'll be looking at a hybrid turbo conversion from jabba, mmm 300 bhp  ;D

That reminds me of the old Austin Maestro Turbo, when Austin gave the car to the press it would only last a short time, they used to whack the boost up so high to get rave reviews and unachievable 0-60 times. good to see they still do it today, but luckily the cars can take the upgrades and son't just blow up.
Me old diesel was quick/........

16.004 sec Qtr mile @ 85mph 23/5/04 Santa Pod

Now running around in soon to be REVO'd Seat ibiza 1.8T 20v FR and missing the fuel economy..............

I must admit that 240bhp at the wheels feels v.v quick and i wouldn't want to go much more than that especially 2wd.But because i lose about 25% through the tranny that would equate to 320bhp at the fly which is unacheievable on the standard turbo.
