I didn't go out until 4:30, when it was streaming again.
The session I was on was the last one of the day - someone in a Mondeo ST24 span off (in front of me, as it happens) and they shut the track, which was bloody annoying.
As far as I can make out there were a lot of idiots out there - from people with 'show cars' who seemed to be out for a nice Sunday drive with their gran, to people in cars that were clearly tweaked right up, but who had no regard for the no overtaking zones. I shan't be doing one of those days again - the 'closed door' sessions I've been on at Combe have been much better.
This was me:

Yes the driving standards of some leave a lot to be desired. At last years Eurofest they had 40 plus cars on track at the same time!!!
Going around one corner I had a newish M3 trying to go round the outside and an Impreza trying to squeeze in on the inside. Made me laugh I had a £700 car and theirs were worth thousands. I don't know what part of no overtaking on the corners they don't understand.
This was one of the reasons I bought the Golf, I really didn't like tracking my porsche 928 on open door sessions.
Now I really don't mind and enjoy those days, but it is a third car and not worth much in the scheme of things, I definately wouldn't take my only car or pride and joy around on public open days.
Shame you had a wet and then cancelled session, but at least you escaped alive and unscathed.
Cheers
Paul
