Anti Roll Bars.... Front & Rear
« on: 20 April 2008, 13:55 »
Hi all....
Was looking around at ARB's to go with the spring or coil upgrade later this month. My question is....

What do they do to the car that the original ones do / don't and what does the thicker diameter bars do.

Eibach 26mm / 23mm Fr / Rr or H&R 28mm / 24mm & 26mm / 22mm Fr / Rr

Are they worth the cost of the upgrade ????? About £300 + fitting cost

I had the Eibach's on my last mk4 GTi and were def worth it imo, car held the corners far better. You may want to speak to the co that supplied your coilovers to see what they recommend.Your best getting both done as some folks only get 1 for some reason? And make sure you get wheel alignment after it too.Its something i am thinking of getting soon too along with some koni coilovers

I've got Eibach anti-roll bars fitted front and rear, really tightens the handling up a treat, combined with the Eibach springs.
Don't ask me what the diameters are though!!

no they are the same,

i have eibachs and couldnt rate them  highly enough!! decent coilovers, arb's and some decent boots, all aligned up then the car really does grip.

As Joe says the ED30 has the same diameter anti- roll bars, I'm also running Eibach anti-roll bars and coilovers but find it difficult to tell you what improvements the roll bars made as I had them fitted at the same time as the coilovers, but can confirm together they make a great handling car even better without being to harsh

I noticed that JBS Autodesigns sell autotech ARB's (25mm front and rear). Rather than being solid they are hollow and they claim to be as stiff and strong as solid ones and around half the weight!!!( save about 5kg)

They are a bit pricy though - £450 for the front and rears

Both H7R and Eibach are solid bars. I've felt the weight of the Eibach ones and they are basically like bent barbells, they are that heavy
