What rubber do you burn?
« on: 19 April 2008, 21:47 »
Howdy!

After a little guidance.

Due to get new tyres soon on the 16v.  How long would you guys expect tyres to last - mileage??

I presume better quality tyres will go further, so are cheaper in the long run?

I don't drive the car hard, so it's not like I need the grip of soft compound, so I am looking for quite a hard compound so they last longer.

Anyone recommend a good hard tyre????

Hmm dunno but when i bought my 16v a month ago it came with a set of 4 Toyo Proxe T1-R's, there low profile, nice looking tread pattern and just a really good tyre generally.

If you dont do big miles then i think any tyre will last a good while.

Cheers.

Found some Toyo Proxes PX4 for £50 a corner online.

Quite interested but I really don't want a soft compound.

T1-R's are what you want mate, i know there was another model called T1 something else i think which were not as good and are now dis-continued, but the T1-R's are still made and are the best of the Toyo range.
The ones you speak of i havent heard of, will have a google.

Nice one mate.

Are T1-R's a harder compound then?
