Hi... I'm a bit of an iTunes boffing....
If you want to convert tunes down loaded from Apple/Itunes that you have bought you'll need a converting program that will copy the tracks but without the DRM.
If you have imported your own tunes via cd's then all you have to do is go into Edit / Preferences / Advanced /Importing and change the 'import using' to MP3 Encoder and setting to at least 128Kbps, I would go for 192Kbps cos it sounds better.
Then come out of that and go to your Library / Music and select the tracks to convert. Once selected right click and select 'Convert to MP3'
and sit back and wait....
after it's converted them you can delete the original one and just leave the MP3 version.....
Also from now on when you insert a cd it will auto convert to MP3 without asking....

OK so I have 32 songs in a playlist on iTunes, that come to 148MB, I convert them to MP3's as instructed. When I go to "Burn CD", it tells me these wont fit on one disk, and when I do burn them to CD they take up the whole CD, 700 MB and wont show the song title etc on my RCD300. It does say MP3 on my head unit, can anyone help please ?

Hope this helps..

Was just going to reply to you post above then I saw this one.... you must of burnt them as audio files and not MP3's
Just a note.... a 1 minute track converted to 128Kbps = about 1Mb. so 200 x 3.5 mins = 700Mb or 1 full CD-R.

Hope this helps...

Many thanks for your help, MartinWillerby, one more thing if you don't mind.

All my music in iTunes is saved using the AAC format, I think i'd like to convert the whole lot to MP3 as i burn a lot of CD's. As I have over 2000 songs, once converted they would all be doubled, how do you sort them out so you onlt have the MP3 ones, do you simply delete the AAC version, that would take ages!?!

One or 2 songs wouldnt convert, and were missing from the CD. I have the origional cd but they wont convert! I'll keep playing!

Appreciate your help

Yep, its cool eh!
I'm wondering if the RCD500 would be an upgrade, soundwise, as I'm a bit dissapointed in the RCD300 to be honest. Want to stay OEM as possible.

i bought a 500 of ebay, it arrived and didn't work, sent back and seller said i broke it .
from what i have since seen of them i am not impressed, the in built 6cd takes ages to change and is noisy.thinking of going MFD2 or the 510.
