G60 engine set up.
« on: 18 April 2008, 18:35 »
I have the beast running, but it is running like a bag of poo. Does anyone have a Corrado G60 Haynes manual that they can scan the engine section for me? I need cam settings and also ignition and injection set up. I think I have got the cam timing correct, but without knowing where the timing marks are, I had to work out the position. I think I got it right but I need to check it against some literature.
The timing is well out, so I need this info too.
BUT, regardless of all this, I drove it today for the first time.

Any help would be massively appreciated.

just put one in mine.... i staticly timed it, only got put in couple of weeks back... bascially set it to TDC ... if u cant see the timing marks heres what to do

remove spark plug 1 or 4, insert a long thin screwdriver into its hole and it will hit the piston.
turn the engine over in direction of rotation until the screwdriver rises to the top most point.
now remove the dizzy cap
there is a mark on the dizzy near #1, the rotar arm has a cut out in it.. they should match or close enough
if not slacken the bolt 13mm i believe holding the dizzy and try and move the dizzy so it lines up.
it may be seized mine went with some penatrating spray and a couple of taps.

if the rotor arm is completly opposite where it should be dont worry you just need to turn the engine through another 180 degrees as its currently firing on #4 apposed to #1 where the timing is set .

beware make sure the plug leads are on in the right order, my mate messed these up and it backfired its tittys off before we figured it out
