Few engine niggles?

Ah, this is possibly the infamous "owl" noise that some owners complain of. I had the same kind of noise when I had my TDI140 mapped and although it was a bit annoying, it wasn't a fault as such. As for the Diesel smell, this too became more apparent after the remap.

Just popped the bonnet open and noticed some splashes around the engine oil cap.  Also the part where the bonnet touches the engine was also moist looking.  Will maybe upload some pictures?

Got my car remapped around 3 wks ago, and have noticed a high pitched whining noise when i accelerate, and it goes away when i decelerate, almost like a police siren but nowhere near as loud!  Reckon this has anything to do with the remap?

 

Also noticed today the smell of diesel when i was sitting stationary in traffic.  Definitely not from other cars as i smelt it when i was stationary in the car park with no other cars around me!

 

Any ideas? My dad had this police siren sound comming from his bora 150tdi and it needed a new turbo.
