Mk3 8v CUTTING OUT please help!
« on: 17 April 2008, 12:16 »
Hey Guys

When the engine gets to about 70degrees it dies just cuts out and wont start again unless jumped or Cold :( Not applicable if im going over 50 it just kind of lurches and carries on. Fine when cold and fine when hot??

Had this problem for a while ive cleaned out the throttle because the low revs were causing it to die only to find that wasnt the only problem so I changed the Rotor Arm and Dissi Cap as rotor arm was a bit frayed. Now ive ran out of ideas.

Thanks Dan

ecu or fuel pump relay...or temp sensor are most common causes
have a look in the mk3 maintanence section for a thread about these issues

Maybe a coolant temp sensor fault?
