i should think the hall sender would fit. but i would try the coil fist as this is wat went on mine .it cut out at high ish revs for a few months and then it cut out and would not start a tall. i tryed a mates fist. hope this helps

Could be a broken wire as they are known to break that side of the block. As said, most likely to be the dizzy timing slightly out rather than cambelt out a tooth. The new dizzy could of been fitted because of that fault and not cleared when fixed, you should clear the faults first, run the car for a few days and scan again to see if it comes back

As pete says a broken wire could be quite possible. I had a similar thing a while back found out that the ECU pulse wire from the dizzy to ECU was making an intermittent connection replaced this problem solved.

pete - just re vagged the ecu after reseting on thursday & the Hall sender (g40) fault code is still there! but considering the car sat for 3 months it runs like new - after replacing a split vac hose - should have the timing checked on sunday - will post back findings! :smiley:

I got the same problem mate who I just bought my car off said he had the cam belt off 6 times to make sure the timing is correct but still it won't rev over 5000 revs. But it still run really sweet need to get hold of a haynes manual then
