Can anyone help?
Got another mk2  h plate gti the other day in (i think) Royal blue paintcode: LA5U

Been getting some bits to add on it etc that need spraying so thought no probs ill pop to all the car shops & find the paint in a can etc!

to my amazement my code was not in any of the rattle can books in the shops  :lipsrsealed: so i thought o.k & went to my nearest v.w dealer/parts centre, they checked my code & chassis number & blow me its on the computer that the colour is now obsolete starting today  :lipsrsealed: so im trying to find out what or if anyone knows where i can get this colour made up in some cans or if someone with this colour has found a close match available in the shops anywhere?

i need a few cans so needs to be a cheap option if poss,so ifff anyone knows of places that can make the colour up or someone who has this colour or has used a near match?
All info well apreciated!

Maybe I should drive my LA5U to the local dealership, park it outside and say "Does this bloody look obsolete to you mate!" grrrr

If you go to a good car paint seller they should be able to mix the colour to match your car as opose to mixing it from the code and it not matching your car

if you take the paint code into halfrauds and say your fuel cap or something off the car that is the colour you can look through their colour book and match it up.

its true jonezee says, once they mix it if its wrong you still gotta buy it, but i think thats the same with most places that mix paint. but if you got the pain code and something off your car with the colour then you should have no problems.

just make sure if you do it that why your 100% sure its the right colour

To be honest halfords paint cans local to me are a pain in the arse...

best thing to do as urak hai says is go to a good paint store, they come out look at the car and colour match it best they can, then takes them about 10mins to make you up a can and your sorted.
