A home for the wildlife.....
« on: 15 April 2008, 12:05 »
After the rather damp afternnon at the GTi fest I started removing the carpets from my cabrio and found this.....

It's a little hard to see but there are a few mouse droppings round the gear lever mount.

Also I found this

That would be a load of shredded up newspaper that I assume was it's nest.

I have yet to find the mouse in question in the car but last week I did find one drowned in a flowerpot in the garden. At the time we presumed it was just local or the cat had it, but now I'm thinking it probably came out when I removed the seats and ran off.

I can see myself removing the dash or something and finding more mouse related evidence.

I guess this is what you get when you buy a car with a ripped roof that's been sat in a barn for 4 years.

That damn green stuff on window rubber....
I scrubbed that off the first week I had the car and it's already growing back. Considering the weather though, I'm not surprised.

I cleaned the entire interior out this weekend and there was no mouse to be found.
I only need the one pet in the car anyway. It makes a funny noise, it pisses green stuff into the boot and I have to feed it all the time and sometimes just refuses to do anything. It's called the power roof hydralics.

I have got to strip the roof down before I have it replaced. I can see through the holes that the inside of the headliner is all covered in mildew and mould.

I think the seals on the pistons have gone, so thats gonna be one to strip down once I've got the MOT done.

As soon as I get my MOT done, I'm getting the roof done. Found somewhere who'll come out and replace the outer skin for about £250.

Sweet....
