VIN number

Where can i find my VIN number (on the car, log book at home)

and anyone got what format its in or an example.

isnt that the number on the passenger side of the windscreen?

which is also on passenger side suspension strut?

Thanks guys. Stupid guy that sold the car to me hadn't sent off the v5 form so the car isn't in my name at the moment.  :huh:
